Honesty is Always Best

Just like in any endeavor that you pursue, honesty is always the best policy in blogging. Be truthful and fair in what you write about covering all aspects from gathering, reporting and interpreting information. Go ahead, write about what you believe in and what you care about. Be sure though to publish only information which you think are true. If you are unsure of the facts, better not include them.

Be aware that plagiarism is a big no-no. Whenever possible, identify your resources and provide links to them. Remember, you are writing for the public and your readers are entitled to reliable sources. Get both sides of the story and avoid publishing inaccurate or questionable information.

As much as possible, do not misrepresent blog entries, quotations, headlines, photos and other content. Avoid oversimplifying or highlighting information out of context. Be able to decipher different types of information whether advocacy, commentary or factual.

Honesty also means being transparent about everything – from your actions, motives as well as financial matters. Having a good reputation is always admirable so ensure that you maintain your integrity in every possible way you can.
