Customizing Blog Themes

Themes or templates determine how a blog would appear to visitors.  The possibilities are almost unlimited since all blogging applications have a way of customizing the look and feel of blogs through them.  Themes are similar to “skins” that serves as external covers that can be modified or customized to suit the blog.

It might come out as a surprise that even with the availability of so many instant themes, users still complain of not having enough variety in designs to choose from.  Add to this the natural desire of bloggers to make their sites stand out, the less desirable the ready made themes appear to be.  The only way blogs can be given that personal touch is to customize it.

There are people that can be hired to give blogs their unique and branded look should bloggers find themselves wanting of the skills needed to form one.  Another option is to modify an existing theme.  Bloggers just have to check the copyright and related information for the theme chosen.

It is possible that there is no need to completely alter a theme to be suitable for one’s blog.  A slight change in color shade or layout might just be all that is needed.  While it has been proven time and again that content reigns supreme over design, the latter still plays a major role in a visitor’s attitude towards a site.  Special attention should also be given to the index since it could spell the end for a blog if it is impossible to navigate, read or is a mess, organization wise.
